Expelled!

He can’t get the horrid word out of his mind.

Bart Martin is expelled from school on the charge of stealing a priceless stamp—a  stamp he claims he didn’t steal. Why should he be degraded so unjustly, and by the most hated headmaster in the school to top it off! The world is so cruel!

Having lost his friends, been rejected by his proud old grandfather, and with anger and bitterness welling in his soul, Bart must move to Scotland to live with his hardworking and faithful mother. Expecting a land of kilt-wearing redheads, Bart is soon to find that his imagination is not always to be relied upon. But there is more than meets the eye in this ancient and beautiful land.

Just when life seems to be taking a turn for the better, Bart makes one bold and foolish choice that leads him on a gut-wrenching journey—one that could clear his name or prove his guilt. Foolishly taking matters into his owns hands, Bart is about to learn that the ends don’t justify the means, no matter how pure they may seem.

As the story unfolds, Bart’s new friend Terry shows him her most prized possession—a beautiful scroll etched with ancient wisdom. The scroll contains the very words that could help Bart out of his perilous position. However, to heed the words of the scroll will require a character trait that has been evasive for Bart. With a surprise twist in the story, Bart is faced with one of the most difficult decisions of his life; a decision that will become his defining moment.

An ancient scroll, a missing stamp, and a parlour in the sky set the stage for a dramatic mystery that will cause your heart to pound, longing for Bart to make the right decision. You may even find yourself yelling at the page to make Bart aware of the disastrous consequences waiting for him if he makes the wrong choice. This story is a classic case of the root of bitterness, its dire consequences, and the close-at-hand truth that can set one free.

1 review for Case of the Missing Stamp, The

  1. Amy M (verified owner)

This was an excellent riveting read that highlights the power of forgiveness from others and most importantly from the Lord! It follows the conversion story of two teens. I love how it shows the deadness of religion pre-conversion and the power of transformation post-conversion as they wrestle with the petitions in the Lord’s Prayer! This is an excellent book to teach teens the practical lessons from the Lord’s Prayer.

One word of caution: it does show adults encouraging a teen boy and girl to spend time together alone in a small room in a house away from everyone else. Nothing more than conversation happens but still isn’t wise. Some parents also may have issue with the word stupid appearing a few times. Other than that I’d give it 5 stars!
