White Knights, The
$20.00
Horace, Percy, and Cyril are ordinary boys who love the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Their discerning pastor starts a club for boys – The Order of the White Knights – challenging them to be chivalrous in their own neighborhoods and even in their own families. What a profound change takes place in that community because of the personal sacrifice of these ordinary, yet extraordinary boys! This story will increase our sensitivity to the needs of others, as we realize that most of the people we meet each day are weary travelers simply needing a kind word or a helping hand.

A Favorite I had purchased White Knights as a father’s day gift a couple summers ago and am returning to make another such purchase. My husband read this aloud to our family and it became a wonderful story of unity and service to others. It took some time to get use to the style of writing, but this increased our family’s desire to serve others. Our boys even made up a nickname for our family, “The Order of the Castle Evergreen in Service for our King (meaning Jesus)”. This is a wonderful story and we highly recommend it. We recently purchased some classics at a library book sale and my husband actually preferred those public library classics go in the recycle bin and we look at more Lamplighter Books.

Excellent Story!!!! I loved this book! It is a must read for boys! But it teaches everyone to have a heart of service, and helps you have the right reasons to do so. Everything is done in service of our King Jesus.

Good, Quick Read, Especially for Boys 8 to 11 This is a good book for encouraging boys to be selfless and considerate of others. And, it’s fun to read. It’s a pretty realistic story about three boys who learn to think about others through a chivalry game they play. I bought it to read to my three girls to show them what true manliness looks like.
