Painted Fly, and Other Stories for the Young
$18.00
The Painted Fly is a love story—for both children and adults. It is a romantic tale of unquenchable love that leads the reader on a journey of surprise endings—or rather, surprise beginnings. Although written in the classic style of Christoph von Schmid, author of The Basket of Flowers, the characters of The Painted Fly were created with distinct personalities that provide a new twist to Von Schmid’s stories. At the heart of the story, without betraying the surprise climax, is the revelation that love does not easily surrender, even in the face of insurmountable obstacles. True love never gives up; it is not passive, yet neither is it demanding. But in this innovative story, through myriad twists and turns, you will also discover that love is extremely creative! And with that, I bid you adieu.

Excellent I loved the character building stories in this book. How God works also to reward us and for His faithful intervention in our life, when God brought the Forestor and the woman who looked out for him as a youth together in later years and he was able to help her in her dilemma. God is always at work. Highly recommend this book. One I will be rereading!!!!!!!

A Fine Collection of Mr. Von Schmid’s Stories! The Water Pitcher, which is the second in this collection of three, is one of my very favorite stories! I was thrilled to see it in book form, as I had read it years ago printed from the computer. I look forward to sharing this wonderful story with future generations. The Painted Fly was a nice story too, except for some catholic references to Mary near the beginning. And The Cakes was excellent! It shows that The Lord does not overlook the small deeds of kindness done for Him alone!
