Bohemian Bravery is based on a true story about the first martyr at St. Andrews in Scotland. Though not all are called to endure the martyr’s doom at the stake, some are called to a daily living martyrdom of fighting down sorrow and living for others. “One cannot die for Christ unless you are first living for Him; and living for Him is far more difficult than dying for Him.”

Bohemian Bravery This is a very inspiring story of the first protestant Missionary to Scotland. He was a medical doctor who saved many lives and at the same time shared the gospel of Jesus Christ from the Bible with his patients. I highly recommend it.

Top Read! I have never been inspired by missions or the lives of missionaries although been sympathetic and understanding to their cause – bringing Jesus to the unbelievers. Now we are inspired in such a way as to get behind our missionaries. This book taught me that a cloud of ‘sin’ has enveloped even those who claim Christianity and it our job to send a person to reach out to each one of those misled people on a individual basis in a peaceful and loving manner – revealing to them our beloved Jesus and HIS Salvation.

Great Story I had never heard of this man and enjoyed this story very much. His life reminded me of William Tyndale.
The author did a great job of telling his story through a fictional family that was impacted through his life.

Even Better Than Expected! I have been savoring every chapter of this book. It is incredibly meaningful and inspiring. I have been surprised by and absolutely love the reference to the legalistic religion of the day, the timeline of this story. The gospel is so clearly illustrated and explained. The foundation of the book is the truth of Jesus Christ. The story itself of the medical missionary is just beautiful and sacrificial, so reflective of a life lived fully for the Lord. Thank you, Lamplighter, for offering this favored title.

A Call to Devotion Bohemian Bravery reminds us and calls us to be devoted to the Gospel; it challenges us to separate from the world and seek the kingdom of God with a zeal and a purpose.

Inspiring, Must Read – Looking For More Like This This book was amazing and inspiring my husband and I would read aloud to our 5yr to 8 yr boy/girl and we where all on the edge of our seats. The ending … was amazing, it inspired each one of us to think of how we can use our gifting to serve others as well as spread the love of Christ.
