Little Threads is part of the Fireside Collection

It was Mrs. Prentiss’ intent that this little gem would be a tool for children to learn obedience. Read about the contrasting lives of Tangle Thread and Golden Thread, one the cause of much grief for her godly mother, and the other the only bright spot in her poor mother’s world.

“I ordered sixteen books to increase our Lamplighter library. The impact these books had on my life was astounding. I felt myself draw closer to our Almighty God and experienced His love and grace through these powerful stories. My character also became more Christ-like through the inspiration of the characters in the books.”

Excellent This one was a great read-aloud which I did read to my two daughters, ages 10 & 11. They were intrigued with Tangle Thread and Golden Thread’s stories. It challenges children to be good for their parents and shows them how challenging it can be for a mother, whether dealing with a difficult child or needing to leave her child alone so she can work and bring home necessary needs. I liked how the pride of Golden Thread’s mother was touched on. She wanted to work, and even felt that she needed to work to provide for herself and her daughter, but how, when she is physically no longer able to, she is forced to fully trust in God’s provision, and you will see what the outcome of that trust is. We loved it. We highly recommend it, especially to be read aloud.
