According to Merriam-Webster, to have courage is to have mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. The women highlighted in this volume exemplified great courage, often in a less-than-supportive environment. Their life work in science, medicine, the arts, education, research, evangelism, and government drastically improved the lives of people in their day and for generations to come.
May this book inspire us to use our God-given interests, gifts, and talents in a greater way to serve humanity and to glorify our great God. May we see obstacles as opportunities to courageously persevere and lead lives of purpose and great influence.

Great Book! This was my first time trying out some books from the scratch and dent list. I was very happy to find that the damage is very minor, and on some I can’t even find it! It makes it easy for someone who can’t afford the full price of the books to be able to get them at a discount and still enjoy the excellence of these books.
This specific book, Girls of Courage Who Became Women of Influence, was wonderful. Each chapter features the story of one woman and each one is very encouraging and shows the character qualities these ladies had. It is easy to read and enjoyable for the entire family.
