Captain’s Sword, The

(2 customer reviews)

The Captain’s Sword is a delightful story
about a brother and sister and the lessons
they learn as they wait expectantly for the
return of their dear daddy, the Captain.
Amidst never-ending escapades, important
lessons of obedience and faith help Tim and
Mops to overcome stubbornness, pride, and
fear. While Tim admires his dad’s shiny
sword hanging on the wall, he soon learns
that it’s the Captain’s
other Sword that cuts
on the inside to bring about real change!
Captain’s Sword is sure to be one of your
favorite Lamplighter stories for children—
another treasure by Amy Le Feuvre, author
of the much-loved
Teddy’s Button!

Highly Recommended This really is the best Lamplighter book out of the 50 plus that I’ve read. Can’t wait to read it aloud to my children.

Highly Recommended! I bought this book to read to my 6 year old son. He’s not particularly excited to read but also not opposed. I have two daughters and have plenty of more girl themed books to read with them, but was looking for a book that I could read aloud with my son. This book is it! I read him a chapter every night before bed. He has taken to drawing pictures of canons and men with hats and swords as I read. He has stopped me to ask clarifying questions about the characters and the plot. He’s learning new vocabulary too which is great! I have found myself praying different scriptural truths from what we have read in the chapter over him at night. Love how this book has given me fresh ideas of how to pray for him. Especially that he would understand that God’s word is a trustworthy weapon, one that will never fail him whatever battle he finds himself in.
