This beautiful, genuine Spanish leather-bound book is a desirable heirloom for every library. It features the tender story of lonely Old Man Winter, who isolates himself from gossipy neighbors and hides from any who might pry into his sorrow. But all is not lost as young Myrtle, through her childlike innocence, rekindles his desire to live. This true-to-life story reminds us once again that when life seems to hold more than we can bear, we can rest assured that we have a loving God who is orchestrating events for our good.

Winter Folly I received my novels that I had order in the “damaged” section…..was I thrilled? Yes, yes, yes! They were practically brand new to me! I guess I am not too picky. Very very happy…..thank you. Loving our novels and also the DVD

Winter’s Folly I was absolutely moved to tears while reading this book. Myrtle’s conscientious character reminds me of the sadness I felt in my heart, as a little girl, for a downtrodden neighbor of mine. It is a gem of a book that shows how the Lord can use a child with a keenly sensitive heart for those who are in obvious despair and overlooked or written off by society.

Winter’s Folly Compassion, forgiveness, loving your neighbour, the gospel of Christ were all things I found in this wonderfully bound book by Lampligher. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for my next one!

Charming Book This is an excellent book. In life we are often faced with impossible choices and heartache. Mr. Winter had to face both which hardened his heart toward God and others. Only God can soften a heart of stone. But God is faithful and does soften hearts and bottle our tears. This is another one of my favorites.

God Makes Beauty Out Of Suffering Winter’s Folly is a touching piece. I cried throughout it. So many times, I have heard, or even been a Mrs. Blunt. Among many other things, I wish to be more like Myrtle, courageous and patient in her faith. For months, she made a consistent effort to reach Old Man Winter, and finally, she was able to walk right into his heart. The restoration of two broken hearts was so moving. I loved the ending (I’m big on happy endings). I cried for Topsy, and William, and Maggie. As Christians, we have a solemn responsibility to reach out to such hurting people like them, out of a holy love. You never know what will come from the tiniest seed you plant. Like the patient gardener (James Rode) of The Basket of Flowers, Myrtle tends to her seed, and, by the grace of God, it becomes a beautiful flower. I can think of someone lonely right now, someone who is haunted with unseen pain of the past. Someone I need to share Jesus with. Can you?

An Amazing Book! This is an amazing book. It is one of my favorites. I love Mrs. O. F. Walton’s books; they always make me realize how much I am loved, and how much I should love others. It is probably the book that has had the most impact on me. I cried a few times, thinking about how much Myrtle loved Mr. Winter, even though he was not kind to her. I highly recommend this book.

Amazing Book! I loved this book! Myrtle is such a sweet, selfless character that gradually melts Old Winter’s heart. The best part is that, once he opens his heart to others again, he’s open to redemption and more than he could ever dream. I highly recommend this book.
