A Delighted Reader A.L.O.E. once again writes a story that will speak directly to your heart. It will open your eyes to the hidden scheming’s of the evil one, and teach you ways to fight against Pride. This book drastically changed my views, and taught me to not forgot how artful the Devil is in drawing us away from God. It also taught me the necessity and value of prayer. I think that this truly God inspired woman has given us a weapon. And I recommend that you read this book and learn how to use it. May the King of Glory open your eyes and use this book to forever draw you closer to Him!

Strongly Recommended Very well written. I loved the imagery of pride and his friend. The story of the people in this book made me realize how much we sometimes think pride is not a big deal.

Excellent This book is amazing. A. L. O. E. writes with stunning precision, unearthing even the the most hidden sinful motives and casting light on the wickedness—and utter folly—of fostering a proud heart. This book closely follows several ‘prisoners of Pride’ in whose lives are drastically different manifestations of self-exaltation. A. L. O. E.’s characters, whose outward demeanors range from bitingly satirical to seemingly sinless, are all held fast by the same fetters until relational disaster and material tragedy open blinded eyes, and each must by God’s power break their chains. Repentance brings restoration; humbled hearts embrace the truth. The book closes with a poem which contrasts the pride of worldly men, whose treasures lie in themselves, with the blessed humility of he “who, heir of an eternal, heavenly throne, rests all his hopes on Christ, and Christ alone!”

Arrived Quickly and Was Packed With Care I ordered a book for my mom for Christmas. She loves Lamplighter. The book arrived promptly and was packaged with care. Only area I would change is if they had an option of a gift so it is not in a box that says where it is from on the side.

Loved This Book This was my 3rd or 4th book by ALOE, and I very much enjoyed this one. I have often read aloud these books to my kids, but this one I read on my own. I admit I had to start it twice, but picking it up the second time I engaged quickly into the story. It is well written and thought provoking. In the beginning it personifies pride and makes you think how it might be lurking in your own life. I look forward to reading more from this author.
