The earnest dedication of this child and the testimony of her heart were substantially responsible for the founding of The British and Foreign Bible Society in 1804.

Def Highly Recommended A most precious story signifying the value of God’s Word & hiding it in our hearts. I give the book as gifts. Also, I’m Thankful for Mark Hamby’s story of how he was led into this calling & mission to re-publish such invaluable books.

Another Treasure I have only started this book as I write this review, but I already consider it another Lamplighter “treasure”. I especially love that this one is a true story. I know I haven’t read it all yet, but I think this is a book every believer should have. In a country where the Bible is so readily available to us, it is sometimes easy to take for granted; this story reminds us what an invaluable treasure God’s Word is.

The Word of God is a Treasure! This book is a great read. The story is fun and compelling, but more importantly, the heart of Mary for the word of God is truly delightful. Not only has this been a great book to read to our three girls, but we have been challenged and encouraged as well by reading it to them. A book this wonderful deserves the beautiful cover!

Recommended! Mary Jones is a good reminder to young ladies of excellent character and the love of the Lord and His Word. I have purposed to give it to my granddaughter turning 9 in 2 weeks.

Inspiring True Story I’ve loved this little book since the first time I read it, and I never re-read it without being inspired and convicted and just purely touched by the beauty of Mary’s love for God’s Word and her sacrificial determination to own a copy for herself.
I gave this to my four-year-old niece for Christmas (of course her mommy read it to her) and she absolutely loved it. I’m so glad Lamplighter is printing this beautiful true story.

Everyone Needs To Read This Book! Every person needs to read, “Mary Jones and Her Bible”. I would like to read this true story to my grandchildren to help them realize how precious the word of God is. Then I’d like to give them their own copy of the Bible to study and to treasure.

The Preciousness of Scripture I was able to read this book out loud to my younger brother and sister, and I, myself, was extremely touched once again. I’ve read this book before, and I admired Mary’s tenacity in obtaining a copy of the Scriptures for her very own. But this time . . . this time I was struck by just how much she valued the Bible and how much it meant to her.
