A Must Read! What a beautiful story of patience and complete reliance on the Lord. The scripture is naturally interwoven into the story to bring spiritual comfort to all the readers. The actions of the characters in the story teach us a valuable lesson on how it is our duty, as Christians, to take care of those in need, even when it’s inconvenient for us or when our resources run low. We should count it a great privilege to serve our Lord Jesus on Earth and not miss out on being His hands and His feet. A true blessing beams out of this captivating story.

Powerful Read Amazing book, I could not put it down, I read the whole book within 24 hours of getting it, in 2 reads. Seeing how the Hand of God is so evident in our lives, no matter how dreary the situation seems. Then, I read it again in 3 reads. Sad the situation of the 2 orphans but to see how God provided blew me away. Please get this book for anyone needing encouragement.

Fantastic Book This is a great read, and I had such a hard time putting it down. I really love how the writer included scripture into the story. I have really enjoyed every Lamplighter book I have read.

Wonderful Lessons! It is well written and has some uniqueness, but there is not much to make it stand out among other stories with the same kind of setting and plot. One lesson that was a blessing to me was how it showed that the Word of God doesn’t return void. The father had taught his son God’s Word and earnestly prayed for him. God heard and answered.

An OK Read For the most part I enjoyed the story. It’s a very simple allegory of how the heavenly Father loves and cares for us. He rescues us from poverty and rags restoring us and giving us a family. The characters were well written and several story lines blended together really well.

A Beautiful Story! As someone who has had many struggles both health wise and financially, I found this book to be a beautiful reminder of how much God cares for us. Reading it from a writer’s perspective was also fascinating, because I could see the growth of the author as she continued writing her story. This book is a treasure and a great reminder that God cares for us and can work through the lives of his creation to prove this fact – including our own!

Great Book! As soon as I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down! I’ve come to love the Lamplighter books to a point that I gave up television. It’s a great read for the entire family and the kids are looking forward to every evening reading time. Greatly recommend the book!!
